Woman arrested in Ontario for Laval restaurant deadly shooting

A 25-year-old woman in Ontario has been arrested, in connection to a Laval restaurant shooting that left one man dead at the beginning of June.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) made the announcement on Friday in a press release.

Britney Lewis of Pickering, Ont., was arrested by Durham Regional Police and will appear in a provincial court there before being transferred to Quebec to face charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder – in the death of Bernard Cherfan.

The 42-year-old victim was killed June 1 inside the La Perle restaurant on des Laurentides Blvd., in the Vimont district. It happened around 7:25 p.m., when a suspect walked in, headed right for Cherfan, and shot him in front of other patrons, families, and staff. Leaving many, including children, hiding under tables – terrified.

The victim was known to have links to organized crime

The suspect then fled the scene.

    “The investigation in this case is ongoing and more arrests may be made in the near future,” the SQ said.
