Longueuil fire leaves two dead, one in critical condition

By News Staff

Two people died in a fire at a Longueil home, on Montreal’s south shore, early Thursday morning.

Police confirming their bodies were officially found later in the afternoon.

One of the home’s occupants was brought to a Montreal burn unit in critical condition.

Four people lived in the residence on Cuvillier street east, but only two escaped when a blaze broke out around 7 a.m.

The flames prevented firefighters from properly accessing the homes second floor – and the size of the blaze forced them out.

It’s still unclear what caused the fire.
