Canadiens fans invited to NHL draft viewing party outside Bell Centre

All eyes will be on Montreal on Thursday for two reasons: the 2022 NHL draft is happening in Montreal, and the Canadiens have the first overall pick.

Fans are getting swept up in the excitement that comes with the first pick at the draft – a fitting consolation prize for finishing last the season before.

Will Montreal pick Shane Wright? Or Juraj Slafkovsky? Or maybe even Logan Cooley?

To be part of the announcement as it happens, the Canadiens are hosting a live viewing party for fans.

The first round of the 2022 draft will be broadcast for fans on a giant screen at Canadiens Plaza – outside the Bell Centre.

The screen will be showing draft coverage on July 7 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., including prospects arriving on the red carpet prior to opening round.

Former Habs players Steve Bégin and Gilbert Delorme will be there for three hours – from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. – to meet fans and sign autographs.

There will also be Canadiens mascot Youppi!, a DJ, as well as food and drink.

The viewing party is free.
