Cyclist hit by SUV in Brossard

A 25-year-old cyclist is in critical condition after being hit by an SUV in Brossard on Wednesday morning.

It happened around 6:35 a.m., at the corner of Taschereau Blvd. and Authier street.

On impact, the cyclist was thrown several meters away, before hitting the ground.

The victim was taken to hospital, and Longueuil police tweeted that they fear for his life.

Collision scene specialists were dispatched to the scene to try and establish the circumstances of the accident.

Some of Taschereau Blvd. was completely closed to traffic towards the Jacques-Cartier Bridge for part of the morning, but has since reopened.
