Quebec confirms 331 monkeypox cases

Quebec with 331 confirmed cases of monkeypox, according to the Ministry of Health.

The number of cases up by 11 since the last update was provided on July 19.

Monkeypox is a rare disease that comes from the same family of viruses that causes smallpox, which the World Health

Organization (WHO) declared eradicated around the globe in 1980.

The virus spreads through prolonged intimate contact, but is said to not be very contagious in a typical social setting.

Symptoms of monkeypox include fever, headache, muscle aches, exhaustion, swollen lymph nodes and sores.
