The Just For Laughs festival is in full swing and one of its longest running shows is back. The name says it all…it’s “The Nasty Show.”
“I love coming here,” said Liza Treyger, one of the many comedians performing at the show. “I love having a good time and doing press, makes me feel like Lady Gaga.”
“I’m busy and I feel like a pop star,” she added.

This year marks the 40TH edition of the Just For Laughs festival – a driving force for comedy across the globe.
“This is where all the big comics are that you just run into on the street,” said comedian, Sophie Buddle. “Even if you live in L.A. or New York, it doesn’t happen ever.”
“It’s pretty cool to just be in, like, a comedy town, like the Olympic Village for comedians,” she added.
One of the festival’s many shows: “The Nasty Show.” Hosted by the one and only Big Jay Oakerson.
“Six of the funniest comics in the world saying the most offensively grotesque things possible to an audience that I’m not sure if they want it,” explained Oakerson.
“Oh, they want it,” added fellow comedian, Robert Kelly. “I was like doing regular stuff (during opening night of the show) but then the dirty stuff, they were like, yeah, yeah!”
“It turns out we weren’t being offensive enough,” said Oakerson.
In addition to these nasty comics – the festival will have appearances by Amy Shumer, Chelsea Handler, Rick Mercer and more.

Trayger with advice for women who want to start their own comedy journey.
“Work with really good people,” she said. “Know your strengths and weaknesses and work with people that balance you out.”
“And you don’t have to be good at everything,” she added.
The Nasty Show runs until July 28th and the Just For Laughs festival will keep filling the city with laughter until July 31st.
“What is nasty, really?” said Oakerson. “People getting together to really laugh about the things that we hear in the dark, you know?”
“Locker room humor,” he added.
“We’re all nasty and we’re all clean,” said Kelly. “And that’s what makes the show beautiful.”
