‘It’s going to be phenomenal’: Rick Mercer to host Just for Laughs Comedy Night in Canada

The Just For Laughs festival continues in full force with Canadian icon Rick Mercer hosting the “Comedy Night in Canada” show on July 29.
“It’s a celebration of Canadian stand-up,” said Mercer.
When he wrapped up the Rick Mercer Report in 2018 after 15 stellar seasons, Mercer explained that he had another dream ready to be achieved.
“I wanted to tour the country as a true stand-up,” he said.
And Mercer has done just that. From Saint Johns to Vancouver – now in Montreal as the Just for Laughs festival celebrates its 40 years.
“It’s the best lineup of the entire Just for Laughs festival,” added Mercer. “It’s all Canadian. They’re incredible.”
From comedians Dave Merheje to Sophie Buddle, laughs are guaranteed.
“You absolutely have to come to ‘Comedy Night in Canada’ because that is where the A-team is,” said Mercer, as he emulated his iconic Rick Mercer Report rants. “It’s going to be phenomenal.”
