Montreal firefighters were called in after a blaze started on the roof of Théâtre du Nouveau Monde downtown Thursday morning.
It started around 7:20 a.m. near the back of the building that was under construction as work was underway.
It seems sparks got into the isolation of the roof and ignited.

By 8:10 a.m. firefighters had the incident under control. About 80 to 90 firefighters responded to the call.
Everyone was evacuated without incident and no injuries were reported.
It’s still unclear for now what, if any, damage was done to the main building’s interior.
Théâtre du Nouveau Monde has postponed shows scheduled for Aug. 19-20-21, but will resume programming Aug. 26. See their website for more details.
