Police say two men who were shot in Montreal within 30 minutes of each other have died in hospital.

A 44-year-old man shot in the Rockland Shopping Centre parking lot in Town of Mount Royal.

Montreal police responded to a 911 around 12:55 p.m. about the incident on Rockland Road, near Brittany Ave.

“When police officers arrived, located the man age of 44 that was shot at least once to his upper body,” said SPVM spokesperson Jean-Pierre Brabant. “So that man was rushed to the hospital where CPR maneuvers were done during his transport. At this point, we fear for his life there at the hospital.

“There was about 100 cars that were in the parking lot. So a lot of witnesses have to be met by investigators.”

Police are calling it an attempted murder.

La Presse is reporting the victim is connected to biker gangs.

No arrests have been made so far.

A second shooting happened about 30 minutes later, at the corner of Saint-Denis and Ontario at pizzeria Napoli.

A man in his 50s taken to hospital in critical condition.

“Investigators will have to meet with different witnesses that were around the area to know exactly what happened,” said Brabant.

“Some service cameras all have to be looked at, the different businesses around the area to see if we get more information on potential suspect or if any vehicles were involved.”

It’s still unclear if the two events are directly linked.

“We’ll look into both of identity of those victims, were they known to our services, but too early to confirm at this point,” added Brabant. “We’re going to check, too, with the other event that occurred in TMR if those two events are linked together.”
