Body of man found in garbage can on Dr. Penfield

Montreal police say they found the body of a man in a garbage can on Doctor-Penfield Avenue on Friday evening.

Police are investigating what would be the 27th homicide of the year in Montreal.

A spokesperson for the SPVM says police were called around 7:20 p.m. to carry out checks in an apartment on Pine Avenue near Mcgregor Avenue.

While there, patrol officers allegedly spotted traces of blood.

Officers then discovered the inanimate body of a man hidden in an outdoor trash can.

The victim’s body bore marks of violence.

Major crime investigators were dispatched to the scene.
