Montreal police investigate downtown stabbing

A man in his 20s was stabbed Thursday night in downtown Montreal.

It happened around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Sainte-Catherine and Beaudry.

When police (SPVM) arrived on the scene, they initially couldn’t locate the victim.

After a few minutes of searching, they found the injured man near Frontenac and de Rouen streets.

He was transported to hospital and authorities say his injuries are not life-threatening.

According to the SPVM’s initial report, the victim was walking on Sainte-Catherine with a woman when a conflict with two men and another woman degenerated. The details are still unclear.

An investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made so far.
