It’s gold for Quebec as the Saint-Laurent Soccer Club brought home the boys U-17 Cup on Monday.
Canada Soccer’s Toyota National Championships serves as the nation’s premier amateur competition.
The week-long tournament took place in Surrey, B.C.
The team’s mentality all season: la grinta. It’s an Italian saying for perseverance and determination. It was coined in the Montreal soccer community by former CF Montreal assistant coach Jason Di Tullio, who lost his battle with brain cancer in July.

The Saint-Laurent Soccer Club’s sporting director, Rocco Placentino, described their win as an amazing journey.
The team made history for their club; it was their first time winning nationals.
They got there by scoring the season championship win first with a record of 16 straight wins and one draw.
