Man in his 60s shot dead in Laval

A 66-year-old man was shot and killed in Laval outside the business Centre Céramique 440, near Highway 440 in Laval on Tuesday morning.

Laval police responded to a 911 call around 7:45 a.m. about the shooting.

They located the man on the ground of the parking lot when they arrived onsite – where he died.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is investigating the murder, as they confirm it is related to organized crime.

Reports are that the victim is Vincenzo Armeni, an important drug trafficker, connected to the Montreal mafia – though the SQ did not confirm his identity.

“A 66-year-old man was here and he was injured by a gunshot, he was found and he was already dead at this moment,” said Catherine Bernard, spokesperson from the SQ, “the Sûreté du Québec that is going to investigate […] with the cooperation of the police of Laval.”

A perimeter was setup and investigators were on location.

No arrests have been made so far.
