Quebec COVID hospitalizations down, 26 deaths added

Quebec adding 26 more COVID deaths to its total and hospitalizations down by 24 patients.

17,125 fatalities total since the pandemic began: two in the last 24 hours, 16 added from the last week to the total, and eight that occurred over seven days ago.

1,835 people being treated in hospital, but 630 of those admitted because of COVID-19 symptoms, the rest tested positive after being hospitalized for other ailments. 303 new entries and 327 discharges.

Of those, 41 in ICU, including 25 specifically for COVID and the rest testing positive after being admitted – down by 15, with 11 newly admitted and 26 released.

The latest data shows the province is dealing with 372 active outbreaks and 3,555 health workers are absent from the system due to the virus.

A total of 904 new infections in the last 24 hours, with 182 tests self-declared by Quebecers who were positive. The overall case numbers likely an undercount as access to PCR tests is limited to specific groups and not everyone self-declare their rapid tests.
