COVID-19 in Quebec: 63 more hospitalizations

Quebec added two new COVID deaths to its total Tuesday and hospitalizations were up by 63 patients compared to the previous day.
The latest data shows the province is dealing with 373 active outbreaks and 2,738 health workers are absent from the system due to the virus.
There have been 17,327 fatalities total since the pandemic began. None were from the last 24 hours. Two added from last week to the total.
1,876 people are being treated in hospital. 573 of those were admitted because of COVID-19 symptoms, the rest tested positive after being hospitalized for other ailments. 348 new entries and 285 discharges.
Of those, 51 are in ICU, including 27 specifically for COVID and the rest testing positive after being admitted – that number is down by one, with 20 newly admitted and 21 released.

There has been a total of 955 new infections in the last 24 hours, with 133 tests self-declared by Quebecers who were positive. The overall case numbers are likely an undercount as access to PCR tests is limited to specific groups and not everyone self-declares their rapid tests.
