New public transit measures to help health workers & more during La Fontaine tunnel construction

Quebec’s Transport Minister Geneviève Guilbault announced new public transit measures Monday while the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel is under construction, to help health workers and other commuters.

A new 811 bus line will be put in service by the STM, leaving every 20 minutes during rush hour – from the Radisson metro station, continuing towards hospitals and other health care facilities.

The bus will stop at Cadillac, Langelier and Assomption metro stations, before heading to Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, the Montreal Heart Institute, Sainte-Justine Hospital, Santa Cabrini Hospital, the Marie-Curie-Sklodowska Polish CHSLD, the Marie-Rollet and Dante CHSLDs, the Cabrini Polyclinic and the Maison-Saint-Joseph Residential Centre.

As of Monday, the free RTL-462 shuttle will also extend its route to serve the health care institutions mentioned above – except for the Cabrini Polyclinic and the Maison-Saint-Joseph Residential Centre. The shuttle offers three pick-ups during rush hour from Touraine and Mortagne park-and-rides.

Guilbault says the 461 shuttle from both park-and-rides will also start earlier. From Touraine as of 4:40 a.m. and from Mortagne as of 4:47 a.m. on weekdays.

The frequency of the exo-520 line will also increase to 20 minutes instead of 30 minutes during peak hours as of January 9, 2023, to better serve Beloeil, Sainte-Julie and Radisson.
