Canadiens to honour P.K. Subban Jan. 12 versus Predators

The Montreal Canadiens will be honouring P.K. Subban on January 12.

The Habs announced Monday the 2013 Norris trophy winner would be recognized prior to the team’s game against the Nashville Predators.

In June 2016, Subban was part of a blockbuster trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Nashville Predators, which saw Montreal get Shea Weber.

“We are thrilled to welcome P.K. back to his first NHL home this January,” said Canadiens owner, president, and CEO Geoff Molson. “We look forward to giving our fans a chance to celebrate his career and the impact he had – and continues to have – on the Montreal community. Whether it’s kids on local minor hockey teams choosing to wear No. 76, or the number of fans we see on any given night at the Bell Centre who still proudly wear their Subban jerseys, you don’t have to go far to understand the influence P.K. had on the popularity of the sport in Quebec.”

Subban announced retirement during the summer after playing 834 games in 13 seasons between three teams — Montreal, Nashville and the New Jersey Devils.

After being traded, the former Hab stayed involved in the community and most notably continued his support with the Montreal Children’s Hospital.

Tickets for Subban’s homecoming can be found here.
