53-year-old killed in collision in Lachine mall parking lot

Police say a 53-year-old man was killed following a collision in the parking lot of Les Galeries Lachine shopping mall Monday afternoon.
The SPVM’s Raphaël Bergeron says a moving vehicle crashed into a parked vehicle, causing both vehicles to wind up in the mall’s storefront.
The 53-year-old victim had reportedly just gotten out of the parked car. Another passenger in that vehicle – a 58-year-old woman – sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the moving vehicle, a 76-year-old, was not injured but was treated for nervous shock in hospital.
The SPVM confirmed Tuesday there is no indication of criminal intent. It is instead being treated as an accident.
As of Tuesday morning, the scene was no longer barricaded.
