Montreal’s Place-d’Armes metro station reopened to transit users after being closed due to COP15.

The station on the orange line was closed for nearly three weeks, from Dec. 1-20.

The security fence that formed a perimeter around the Palais des Congrès during the international event was almost fully down as of Wednesday afternoon.

Montreal police have admitted COP15 posed a challenge due to its scale.

No arrests were made throughout the conference, despite a dozen demonstrations in relation to COP15.

A pair of investigations have been opened though due to incidents that took place at commercial locations, according to the SPVM.

COP15 on biodiversity concluded Monday with a landmark agreement to protect 30 per cent of the world’s land and marine areas by 2030.

Participants also vowed to mobilize at least $200 billion a year in domestic and international biodiversity funding from both the public and private sectors.
