Man arrested, firearms, drugs seized in Laval raid

The Laval police arrested 20-year-old Mac Ahern, after raiding a residence in Ste-Rose. They also seized three firearms, 50 rounds of ammunition, drugs and around $5000 in cash.

On January 12, the Crimes Against Persons unit of the Laval police force conducted the raid as part of their efforts to fight urban violence and reduce the circulation of firearms.

Authorities say Mac Ahern is known to police. He remains detained and is expected back in court on January 24.

It was after violent incidents on the Laval territory, that police obtained a warrant to search the home located in the Ste-Rose neighborhood.

The Laval police force says this is the third arrest since the beginning of the year related to their efforts to combat urban violence. They have also seized six fire arms.
