Driver smashes into Montreal SQDC, allegedly tries to rob pot store

A driver smashed into the front window of an SQDC in Montreal early Sunday morning with his vehicle.

The front of the establishment on St. Denis street, near Rachel, had to be boarded up.

The 28-year-old man was not injured and tried to rob the government-run pot shop police say, before he was arrested.

He faces charged of driving under the influence of drugs, theft, break and enter and dangerous driving.

Authorities confirm that the suspect is known to them with a criminal record.

Despite the damage, the branch has been operating under normal business hours.
