Shots fired in Ahuntsic-Cartierville Wednesday night

Police were called to Montreal’s Ahuntsic-Carterville borough on Wednesday night after gunshots were heard and a 22-year-old man was injured by shattered glass.

It happened near an apartment building on de Salaberry, near Bois-de-Boulogne.

According to the police, shots were reported by several calls to 911 around 7:50 p.m.

When they arrived at the scene, they found the victim with minor upper body injuries.

A police spokesperson told CityNews that his injuries were not caused by a gunshot, but by shattered glass. He did not need to be transported to a hospital.

A bullet hole was also found in a doorway.

Investigators and a canine unit were onsite to meet with witnesses, view images captured by any surveillance cameras and search the neighbourhood.

The investigation is ongoing. There are no suspects identified so far.
