RCMP find weapons arsenal, ammunition and neo-Nazi material in Vaudreuil-Dorion home

An arsenal of weapons was found by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) at the home of two brothers suspected of trafficking arms.

The two brothers are now facing several criminal charges.

When RCMP officers raided the home of Jordan Madden and his brother Joshua in late November, they were surprised to find a large quantity of firearms and thousands of ammunition.

Initially, it was the Canada Border Services Agency that tipped off the RCMP about the Madden brothers.

They were suspected of receiving far-right propaganda material. Police also had information that the brothers were buying several weapons from legitimate and illegal sources online and then selling them on the black market.

An investigation was launched by the RCMP on November 30 and police conducted a search of the home of the two men, 29 and 31 years old, on Aquin Avenue, in Vaudreuil-Dorion.

Weapons, ammunition, and various neo-Nazi paraphernalia

RCMP officers found 37 firearms, weapon parts, military accessories, more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition, 200 high-capacity magazines and various items “associated with far-right ideologies”.

Authorities, however, don’t believe the two brothers were planning any sort of attack on people. They say the Madden brothers were arms dealers and did business across Canada.

The brothers purchased their guns and ammunition from various online platforms from legitimate companies and illegal sellers around the world. The weapons were then sold on the illegal Canadian market,” according to the RCMP.

Both the Madden brothers are expected to appear Friday at the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield courthouse.

They’re facing seven counts, including possession, storage, and firearms trafficking.
