“Depending on the number of visitors, the opening hours will be moved up in the morning and extended at the end of the day, and services will be offered by appointment on weekends,” the SAAQ said in a press release early Sunday morning.
“I asked that Quebecers no longer wait outside, and that the service be improved everywhere,” tweeted Deputy Premier Geneviève Guilbault.

Also Monday, customers can consult the daily capacity of each service centre on the SAAQ website before going to stand in line.
On Friday, Quebec Premier François Legault denounced the situation at the SAAQ, calling it “unacceptable” and demanding a fix.
On Feb. 20, the SAAQ launched its new digital platform for customers to make most of their transactions online.
The platform’s goal was to improve efficiency when it came to renewing driver’s licences, paying for registration or the making an appointment for a driving test, among other things.
