84-year-old woman injured in Pierrefonds fire

An 84-year-old woman was seriously injured in a fire in a Pierrefonds-Roxboro duplex overnight Sunday.

The fire broke out in the woman’s apartment in the building located on Gouin West, near Richmond, at around 12:15 a.m.

The woman was transported to hospital in critical condition due to smoke inhalation.

Five others were evacuated from the duplex.

The Montreal Police Arson Squad is investigating the cause of the fire because a person was injured.

Earlier in the night, at around 10 p.m. another fire broke out in the basement of a commercial and residential building located on Henri- Bourassa near Saint-Laurent in Ahuntsic-Cartierville.

No one was injured.
