The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) is asking for the public’s help in finding Alexandre Durand-Artiles, 20, wanted in connection with the March 25 murder of Youcef Khelil.
It happened shortly after 4 a.m. on Saturday, when police officers in Repentigny received a call for a seriously injured person on de Bernière street.
The 21-year-old victim, Youcef Khelil, was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation was transferred to the SQ, working in collaboration with local authorities, and a first suspect was arrested on Monday.
Raymond Félix Bakodok, 21, appeared at the Joliette courthouse on Tuesday to face several charges, including the first-degree murder of Khelil.
The second suspect, Alexandre Durand-Artiles, is said to be 1.78 metres tall (5 feet 8 inches), with black hair and brown eyes.
The SQ says that, “at the time of the events, [Durand-Artiles] was wearing a black puffy hooded coat, black pants and black Nike sneakers with white soles.”
They are asking anyone who sees this individual to contact 911 and that any information that could help locate him can also be communicated, confidentially, to the Sûreté du Québec’s Central Criminal Information Unit at 1-800- 659-4264.
