Rakesh Rama, a friend of Nidammanuri and also his roommate, tells CityNews he filled the complaint to police, early Tuesday morning.

Rama says he last saw his friend Friday night, before going to Toronto for the weekend, but became concerned when no one heard from Nidammanuri. “He didn’t talk to any of us, even his parents,” Rama says.

Listed as an emergency contact at his work place, Rama received calls from Nidammanuri’s employer saying he hadn’t been to work, and they could not get a hold of him.

Rama says, Nidammanuri left his personal belongings at home, including his phone and wallet, something out of the ordinary for him, “it’s strange,” Rama says “nothing happen like this before…he never went out alone.”

“He has no depression, no drugs,” says Rama, who has been in constant contact with Nidammanuri’s family in India. “I haven’t been able to sleep for the past four days,” added Rama. He and Nidammanuri came to Montreal together three-years-ago from Andhra Pradesh, India.

Rama hopes his friend is found safely. Investigators say they have reason to fear for Nidammanuri’s health and safety.

Anyone with information about the disappearance can do so by dialing 911.
