Fatal stabbing of 51-year-old man outside Place Bell in Laval

By The Canadian Press

Laval police (SPL) are investigating an overnight murder in front of Place Bell in Laval.

Police say they were called shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning for the report of a man who was stabbed following an altercation.

It took place on Claude-Gagné Street near Le Corbusier Boulevard.

“Our agents assisted a 51-year-old man. We are talking about serious stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital, but unfortunately his death was declared,” said SPL spokesperson Érika Landry.

The identity of the victim, who was injured in the upper body, was not revealed, but he was known to the police.

“The victim was known to police, but for the moment we cannot say whether or not there was a link with his death … It is surely something that the investigators will try to determine”, said Landry.

There have been no arrests. The SPL investigation continues.
