Day two of the annual Porchfest NDG was in full swing Sunday.
Community members gathered to watch some of their favourite local musicians perform in front yards and on porches throughout NDG.
The festival says it’s about highlighting the neighbourhood’s “musically inclined residents.”
There were nearly 30 performances on Saturday, and about 65 performances scheduled for Sunday.
There was something for all tastes of music – classic rock, folk, blues, jazz and more.
Money raised through donations go towards artistic projects coordinated by the NDG Community Council.
NDG Porchfest was not without some apparent controversy this weekend.
One neighbourhood resident said police got involved Saturday and shut down some of the music.
“Our super cute neighbourhood music festival that takes place on residents’ porches was just busted by police,” Alice Wood tweeted.
“They rolled up to the show and told them to cut the music while the band was playing. Kids dancing in the front. Some volunteers tried to negotiate but the show was clearly over. Not sure what the cops’ issue was specifically.”
