Laval police are seeking to identify a suspect in connection with alleged fraud targeting multiple seniors.

Police believe the woman posed as a police officer and attempted to fraud seniors on nearly 10 occasions. Many of the victims lived in seniors’ residences.

She identified herself under various aliases, police say, such as Claudia Spinelli, Claudia Pinelli, Maria Moreli, Claudia Morelli, and Sabrina Spinelli.

The scam is believed to have involved a first suspect who telephoned the victims on a land line. That fraudster would identify themselves as a member of a financial institution, police allege, claiming the victim was the target of fraud.

The fraudster on the line then managed to obtain the victims’ PIN numbers and convinced them a police officer would come by to pick them up, according to Laval police.

Police have released photos of the suspect believed to be the one picking up the cards. She’s said to be between 20 and 30 years old, five-foot-five, have dark hair and speak French.

Laval police are urging the public to come forward with information.
