The festival also includes a free conference on June 1st about bicycle tourism.

“Montreal is an internationally recognized cycling city. Once again this year, the Festival Go vélo supports our city’s reputation and contributes to its influence by encouraging the practice of cycling and the adoption of a healthy, active and fun lifestyle. Today, cycling is more than ever a part of Montrealers’ habits, and the traditional success of the Go Vélo Festival is a big part of that. I’d like to thank the organizers and volunteers who, year after year, invest their time and effort in this festival. It’s thanks to their support that thousands of cyclists of all ages will enjoy the memorable experience of cycling through car-free streets, discovering the city’s neighbourhoods at a different pace. I invite all Montrealers to join in the fun,” said Caroline Bourgeois, who is responsible for major parks, Mount Royal and sports, Parc Jean-Drapeau, Espace pour la vie and the east end of Montreal on the Ville de Montréal executive committee.

Register for the events on the festival website.

There will be road closures to make way for the events, keep that in mind before your drive.
