Canadiens’ Carey Price and family leave Montreal, move to B.C.

Carey Price is saying goodbye to Montreal.

No, the star goaltender has not retired and he’s still a member of the Canadiens.

But he has moved out of the city and gone back to British Columbia.

The beloved Habs player put his South Shore home up for sale last month, triggering panic and sadness from fans.

The move to B.C. was confirmed Tuesday in an Instagram post by his wife Angela.

“I don’t feel like it’s a goodbye to Montreal because we will be back so often but I do feel like it’s a goodbye to our home and our neighborhood,” she wrote, captioning the photo of her family sitting on the house’s front steps.

“There’s a lot of feelings and emotions which I will go in to later, already cried on the plane and we haven’t even taken off yet, so I need to keep it pulled together for now. But our hearts will always be in Montreal.”

The family’s new home is in Kelowna. Angela shared an Instagram story Wednesday morning showing a room filled with unpacked boxes.

Many are suspecting Carey Price’s NHL career is over due to a long-term knee injury. He was placed on long-term injured reserve last season and did not play a single game. He played just five games the previous season.

Just before leaving, the Prices did take part in a classic Montreal event; they attended the Canadian Grand Prix F1 race at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve Sunday before hopping on a cross-country flight two days later.
