Hit-and-run on Pointe-aux-Trembles worksite injures two traffic controllers

Two traffic controllers were injured Wednesday night in a hit-and-run at a roadwork site in in Pointe-aux-Trembles.
According to Montreal police (SPVM), a witness says a vehicle tried to cross through a cordoned-off area near the intersection of Saint-Jean-Baptiste Boulevard and Industriel around 10:20 p.m.
The person driving the vehicle is said to have hit both victims and then fled the scene.
One of the two victims, a 39-year-old, remained in critical condition with life-threatening injuries two days after the incident. The other victim, who is also 39, suffered minor injuries.
The suspect, a 68-year-old man, turned himself in to police Thursday and was arrested. He was later released without being charged.
An investigation is ongoing.
