By News Staff

Police in Laval made two major drug busts and seized a record quantity of heroin.

The drugs seized, and now off the streets, have been valued at nearly $200,000.

Over the past two weeks, investigators from the force’s organized crime squad carried out two searches as part of an investigation related to a network of distribution of narcotics.

The searches were carried out in two residential buildings in the Chomedey sector, in Laval. The searches originated from information police received that an individual linked to a criminal network would be involved in the distribution of heroin and cocaine.

During the investigation, police say officers were able to establish the suspect acted as a supplier for drug sellers who had an established clientele.

The operation was carried out in two phases and by the end of it, investigators had seized several weapons, brass knuckles, cocaine, as well as a record quantity of heroin.

Anyone who has any information about drug trafficking can confidentially contact the Info-Police Line at 450-662-INFO (4636) or dial 911.
