Another shooting in downtown Montreal

MONTREAL – Another shooting broke out in downtown Montreal, near the intersection of Saint-Denis Street and de Maisonneuve Blvd. east.

Calls coming into 911 just before 12:40 a.m. Once on the scene police officers (SPVM) located a wounded man in his 20s.

He was conscious when taken to hospital by ambulance, and his life is not in danger.

The SPVM set up a security perimeter at the intersection where the shooting occurred. A bullet casing was found on the ground, and the scene was still being examined at dawn, with the help of forensic identification technicians and the police canine squad.

No arrests have been made so far. The suspects fled the scene before police officers arrived.

Last week, two shootings in the downtown area resulted in similar injuries. One at the intersection of Sainte-Catherine west and Drummond streets, and the other at the corner of Sainte-Catherine west and Union.
