A 31-year-old man was killed following a collision near the Lachapelle bridge in Montreal’s Cartierville.

Police received a 911 call around 9:15 a.m. Saturday.

“When police arrived on the scene, the paramedics and firefighters were present to provide assistance to the driver who was trapped inside the vehicle,” said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils.

“According to initial information, the vehicle was travelling southbound on the bridge Lachapelle and at the exit of the bridge, on Laurentien Boulevard, the driver would have lost control of his car and hit a pole.”
