Police began their operation at noon at the store located on the corner of Ontario East and Papineau.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on the scene. Four kilograms of bulk psilocybin was seized, along with  753 grams of edible products containing psilocybin and 1643 tablets with the same substance.

The police operation also targeted a dwelling in Place Charles-le Moyne in Longueuil. Narcotics were seized there, but no arrests were made.

It’s the third time the store is raided since it opened its doors in mid-July.

The SPVM says that a total of eight people between the ages of 20 and 50 have been arrested in the raids so far.

Drugs were seized and arrests were made each time. However, the owners managed to reopen their doors after the last two raids.

Funguyz sells microdosed capsules, dried mushrooms and candy bars, all containing psilocybin, the active ingredient in certain hallucinogenic mushrooms.

The production, sale and possession of magic mushrooms are illegal in Canada.

FunGuyz owns and operates 11 stores in Ontario.

They hope to open two other locations in Quebec, they say as an act of protest in hopes to legalize the substance.
