MONTREAL – A normally busy highway junction in Montreal was disrupted early Wednesday morning by an accident involving a truck.

The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) reports that just after 5 a.m. the truck overturned near the junction of Highway 15 North and the ramp to Highway 40 West. Part of the vehicle’s load spilled onto the roadway.

Police report that the truck driver suffered minor injuries, but had to be taken to hospital.

Shortly after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, the SQ announced that the clearing of the lanes and towing of the wrecked truck would not allow traffic to resume as normal before lunchtime Wednesday.

Police officers from the Montreal police force were requested to ensure the safe flow of traffic Wednesday morning. Vehicles are being detoured via Marcel-Laurin Blvd.
