Shooting in residential area of Mercier, Montreal police investigate

Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating a shooting in a residential area of the Mercier district.

Calls coming into 911 to report gunshots heard around 11:30 p.m. on Monday at the intersection of Curatteau and Lecourt streets.

Once on the scene, officers found a bullet hole in the window of a residence and bullet casing on the ground.

There were four people inside the home at the time, but no one was injured.

The suspect(s) fled before police arrived. No arrests have been made so far.

Investigators and forensics technicians were called to the scene.
