Heavy rains in Montreal, sun returning for the long weekend
The rain came down early, quickly, and then on and off throughout the day for Montreal and surrounding regions.
Thunderstorms rolled through and heavy downpours – with multiple watches issued by Environment Canada.
The weather agency forecasting about 30 to 50 millimetres total falling.

Highway 19 had to be closed at Henri-Bourassa for a time Wednesday morning due to water accumulation.
As did other roads and underpasses.
But sun is expected to return and stay through to next week.
Highs of 21 degrees on Thursday and climbing to 25 on Friday – as we head into the long weekend.
A possible 30 degrees for Labour Day on Monday and inching up to 32 on Tuesday.
