Getting ready for the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal

“Home court advantage,” said Annie Koutrakis, the Member of Parliament for Vimy, about the Canadian cyclists competing at the 2026 UCI Road World Championships, a major professional cycling race that will take place in Montreal.

Sunday is the Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal – an event that turns Mount Royal into a cycling racetrack.

Dignitaries, Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante and the organizing committee of the 2026 UCI Road World Championships were on hand at the race’s starting and finish line Saturday in the lead-up to the race.

Exceptionally this year, the race in Montreal is not a preparation race for the World Championships.
