Highway 40 Eastbound at Côte-Vertu was completely closed to traffic for hours on Tuesday after a truck carrying paint spilled its load.
The roadway fully reopened around 4 p.m.
It had been closed from just before Cavendish as authorities worked to clean up the paint.
Traffic was being detoured via the service road.
It happened just after 8 a.m. – amid morning rush hour.
The paint spread across the eastbound lanes of the highway between Cavendish and Côte-Vertu.
But made it’s way all over the roadway as vehicles drove through it.

The SQ is investigating if the paint was properly secured inside the truck.
The driver could receive a fine if it wasn’t.
