Man seriously injured after stabbing in Lachine

MONTREAL – A 43-year-old man was seriously injured when he was stabbed several times Monday night in a home in Montreal’s west-end Lachine borough.

Montreal police (SPVM) were called shortly before midnight to an apartment on Louis-Paré Street.

Once on the scene, they found the man with injuries to both the upper and lower body, possibly from a blunt object, said Constable Jeanne Drouin, spokesperson for the SPVM.

The man was was transported to hospital in critical condition, but he is now stable and his life is not in danger, according to Officer Drouin.

A 31-year-old woman was arrested by police and taken in to meet with investigators. She is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.

“The causes and circumstances surrounding this event remain unclear at this point in the investigation,” said Officer Drouin.

A crime scene was set up and the investigation is ongoing.
