YMCA building in downtown Montreal to be put for sale

The YMCA building in downtown Montreal will be put up for sale shortly.

The community centre located on Drummond Street near Sainte-Catherine Street has seen less demand for its gym and fitness facilities since the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s main gym facilities have been closed since March 2020.

The organization says it hopes to use the funds from the sale to help pay for services at its other centres.

They hope to find a new building in the area to rent.

The other activities currently being held in the building, such as a language school, will continue until 2025.

The YMCA also closed their facilities in the Guy-Favreau complex downtown in 2019.
