Ville-Marie Expressway near Turcot interchange to be closed over coming weekend

Quebec’s Transport Ministry says there are a number of closures this coming weekend and suggest motorists consult Quebec 511 before taking the road. Notably, Ville-Marie Expressway (Route 136) will be closed eastbound between the Turcot interchange and downtown Montreal.

The closure will be to relocate a major drain and slab repair work.

Route 136 eastbound will be completely closed between the Turcot interchange and the entrances from de la Cathédrale Street and Robert-Bourassa Boulevard starting at 11:50 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 20, and will reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 23.

In addition, Route 136 westbound towards Dorval and the airport will see closures of the entrance from Lucien-L’Allier Street, Saturday, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m., and a closure of one lane in the area of the entrance from du Fort Street, Saturday, from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Montrealers can also expect closures in the Turcot interchange.

A-20 EAST / R-136 EAST in the interchange, the ramp from A-15 NORTH to R-136 EAST, and the entrance from Pullman Boulevard to Hwy. 136 East will all be closed, with the second two beginning an hour before the rest of the closures.

There will also be closures in the Saint-Pierre Interchange. The ramp from the Mercier Bridge to the 20 East will be closed. Transport Quebec warns this may cause congestion in the Saint-Pierre Interchange and on the Mercier Bridge.

Highway 40 westbound in the Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue sector between des Anciens-Combattants and the following exit also remain closed.

The l’Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will also be reduced to two lanes all weekend.

Detours will be marked with signs.
