Four families evacuated after fire in Ville-Marie borough

Four families were evacuated Tuesday night after a fire broke out in an apartment building on Cartier Street, between Ontario and Sherbrooke Streets, in the Ville-Marie borough.
According to Montreal firefighters the fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. in an apartment on the second floor of the building before spreading to the third floor.
No one was injured, but the Red Cross was called in to assist the families.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
