“If we spread love as fast as hate and negativity spreads,” said Hani Hallal, founder of Love Movement. “We could really change the world.”

Did you know, Nov. 13 is World Kindness Day?

To honour it, CityNews is highlighting these Montrealers who are constantly doing acts of kindness in the community — like coming together every month to aid those experiencing homelessness.

“Our goal is to be able to spread kindness on a mass scale,” said Hallal. “And tell the stories of these people who feel voiceless or invisible.”

Gifting essential resources to over 200 people, the Love Movement organization made this happen with Homeless Outreach Montreal, and more including Catherine Feltrin and Philipe Medeiros, founders of OM Metta

“We’re two police officers that decided to help also outside of work,” said Medeiros. “We’re really trying to spread as much love, as much kindness.”

“Also really help people heal themselves.”

“Today you can see how much we are helping,” said Feltrin. “They are in need and that’s why we are here.”

“So I do believe that this is kindness.”

“It’s very important for us,” said Mathieu Hachey from Homeless Outreach Montreal. “That something we do for almost three years now.”

“Just to share kindness.”

This is one of the many kind initiatives Love Movement takes part in.

Back in February, they brought Montrealers together to complete 500 random acts of kindness in 24 hours.

This organization also helps make peoples dreams come true.

“I’m one person, just a drop in an ocean,” explained Hallal. “But together we are the ocean.”

“We have the power to make change in our community.”
