Montreal’s Île-aux-Tourtes bridge to partially close again this weekend
Drivers heading west of Montreal will need to plan ahead this weekend, as the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will once again be closed – this time in one direction.
The westbound lanes of the Île-aux-Tourtes bridge will be completely closed starting Friday at 11:30 p.m. until Sunday at 5 a.m., just before Christmas Eve.
The eastbound side of the bridge, heading toward Montreal, will be open but down to one lane.

It is the second time in a row the bridge closes on the weekend.
Quebec’s Transport Ministry says this is being done to carry out work on the damaged portion of the bridge, so they can quickly reopen a third lane in the next few weeks. After the closure, the bridge will have one lane open in each direction.
Drivers will be able to access Senneville Road.
Before hitting the road, Transports Québec is recommending motorists consult Québec 511, in the event that the schedule for repair work changes.

Last week, the province said the new Île-aux-Tourtes bridge is now slated to be finished by the end of 2026, rather than the end of 2027, as initially planned. Construction on the new bridge has started.
