‘Quebec is an extraordinary nation’: Premier Legault in New Year’s message

Premier François Legault is “confident” 2024 will be a good year “because Quebec is an extraordinary nation.”
In a New Year’s Day message posted to his social media, Legault says Quebecers are “capable of doing big things” in the new year.
He also briefly acknowledged “2023 wasn’t the easiest year” – a potential reference to the housing and affordability crisis gripping the province, or the public-sector strikes that pervaded the end of the calendar year.
In his message, Legault wished health on Quebecers for 2024, “because taking care of each other is what’s most important.
“I also wish you happiness by spending time with your loved ones, discovering a new passion or simply continuing to do the things that make you happy.”
“For young people, I’m wishing you success in your studies, in everything you do. We need you, your ideas, and your energy to transform Quebec. You’re our future. I’m very proud of you all.”
