Man and woman lose their lives in Boisbriand fire

By News Staff

Two people died in a Boisbriand fire on Friday morning – a 91-year-old man and 46-year-old woman.

The fire broke out just before 8:30 a.m. in the basement of a house on Beth-Halevy street.

The man and woman were found by authorities inside when police and firefighters arrived on the scene and were rapidly taken to hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Authorities say the fire was brought under control by 10 a.m.

Although it is still too early to determine the circumstances of the fire, all signs seem to point to it being accidental, according to Régie intermunicipale de police Thérèse-De Blainville.
